Their unwavering focus on the student-first philosophy drives continuous improvement and fosters the highest standards of academic achievement. Faculty members are responsible for managing classes, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, maintaining attendance and grades, and providing feedback. They use the College’s Learning Management System, ensure curriculum quality, and design engaging, student-centered activities. Faculty integrate community-based learning, assess student progress, and communicate results. They stay current in their fields, maintain professional qualifications, innovate curriculum, build community partnerships, and participate in campus and community events.
A Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university is preferred, while a Master of Science in Nursing degree from an accredited college or university is required. Candidates must hold an unrestricted nursing license from the Michigan State Board of Nursing. Clinical experience in Medical/Surgical and Mental Health specialties is preferred, as is at least two years of college-level teaching experience. Experience with accreditation is also preferred. The candidate must be willing to travel to clinical sites and off-site system meetings. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps is required, along with excellent written and presentation skills.
The successful candidate will believe in and support the student first philosophy while contributing to the overall success of Baker College, and acting as a positive role model and brand ambassador on and off campus.
