About the department
The Department belongs to the School of Science and focuses on Chemistry and Materials Science. It has recruited faculty from globally distinguished institutions working in these disciplines. Current research areas include: Advanced materials, High-performance batteries and supercapacitors, Nano porous materials, Microfluidic-based biosensors, Nano-electrocatalysts - Energy nanomaterials, Biomaterials and their biomedical applications, High-throughput screening, Carbohydrates Chemistry and Medicinal Chemistry, and AI/Robotics for Chemistry among others.
Responsibilities and duties
- To teach and examine courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
- To contribute to the development of teaching and teaching methods and assessment
- To maintain active and productive research and obtain research funding
- To carry out various administrative duties related to university teaching and research
- To supervise postgraduate students and support teaching and research staff
- To establish an innovative and well-funded research group that is open to interdisciplinary collaboration that yields productive research outcomes.
Qualifications/experience
Essential Requirements: PhD Degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, or an Engineering related discipline. Demonstrable knowledge in the core areas of the materials science and engineering curriculum. Proven track record of high-quality, high-impact research publications.
Preferred Qualifications: Priority will be given to candidates with research expertise relevant to fundamental Chemistry and Materials Science. Key areas of interest include Polymer, Biomaterials, Energy, Semiconductor, and Nanomaterials, as well as Materials Simulation.
