Faculty Position in Economics for Innovation and Sustainable Development
About the Position
Faculty of Economics (for Innovation and Sustainable Development) at The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) will have the opportunity to work in affiliation and collaboration with Smart Green Transformation Center (GREEN-X).
This position will lead econometric modeling, policy impact analysis, and develop indicators to assess green innovation, technology adoption, and governance performance, ensuring alignment with green growth and sustainable finance metrics. Support cost–benefit and carbon pricing model analysis, MRV policy design, and the development of green finance and investment models for pollution control. We welcome candidates with expertise in Green Finance & ESG Economics, Carbon Pricing, Policy Design and Evaluation, and Index Design.
Position Requirements
The faculty members will be responsible for three primary responsibilities:
Research
- Lead high-impact research with strong translational outcomes and publications in top-tier journals and secure competitive external funding.
- Foster interdisciplinary collaboration within and beyond the College through active engagement in academic events.
- Contribute to innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology transfer, including commercialization efforts.
Teaching
- Develop, plan, and deliver high-quality, accredited curricula for undergraduate and/or graduate programs.
- Prepare course materials, deliver lectures and tutorials, assess student performance, provide feedback, and supervise academic projects.
- Supervise research students and projects, and mentor junior faculty to support their professional
Service
- Contribute to university service through committee work, faculty recruitment, accreditation, and program development.
- Support initiatives aligned with VinUni’s strategic goals and carry out duties assigned by the supervisors.
Key Selection Criteria
General Requirements (All Faculty Levels)
- Degree: PhD (or equivalent terminal/professional degree) from a prestigious university in one or more of the following primary areas: Economics/Policy (strong quant skills; policy engagement record and strong vision for impactful, forward-thinking research and innovation).
- Teaching: Demonstrated teaching ability and commitment to student-centered, active and authentic learning.
- Research: Evidence of scholarly achievement or strong potential through publications in reputable, peer-reviewed journals; engagement in international conferences or research collaborations; and commitment to developing an independent, externally funded research program.
- Service/Industry Engagement: Experience in multinational, multicultural, or start-up environments is highly valued.
Specific Requirements by Rank
- Assistant Professor
Postdoctoral or equivalent experience is preferable. Demonstrated potential for high-quality, independent research, and effective teaching. International research engagement is an advantage. - Associate Professor
Extensive teaching experience with recognized excellence; sustained record of publications and leadership in the discipline; success in securing research funding as Principal Investigator for at least 05 years; and active participation in professional societies. - Professor
Internationally recognized academic and research leadership; substantial, sustained record of high-impact, funded research for 10 years or more; keynote presentations, awards, or honors for research excellence; and distinguished teaching and mentorship experience.
