The IE School of Science and Technology at IE University invites applications for a full-time, open-rank faculty position in Materials Science. The position may be offered at the tenure-track or tenured level, depending on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience.
Spanish language skills are not required. Our working language is English. Both our faculty and student body are highly diverse and international.

Skills/Qualifications
We welcome applications from outstanding early-career researchers, including new PhD graduates and doctoral candidates who expect to complete their PhD before the position begins, as well as established scholars with a strong record of high-quality research, academic publications, and competitive research funding.
The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching in areas such as Materials Science, Resistance of Materials, Manufacturing Processes, and Sustainable Materials. They will also be expected to develop an internationally recognized research program and secure funding through competitive national and international research programs.
Specific Requirements
We are particularly interested in candidates whose research addresses one or more of the following areas:
- Smart, responsive, and multifunctional materials
- Composite materials, polymers, ceramics, metals, and alloys
- Nanomaterials and nanotechnology
- Biomaterials and materials for healthcare applications
- Materials for energy generation, conversion, and storage
- Sustainable materials, circular economy, and materials recycling
- Materials processing and advanced manufacturing
- Additive manufacturing and digital fabrication
- Computational materials science, materials modeling, and simulation
- Artificial intelligence and data-driven materials discovery
- Materials characterization, testing, performance, and failure analysis
Candidates working at the intersection of these areas or applying multidisciplinary approaches to emerging challenges in materials, manufacturing, energy, healthcare, and sustainability are strongly encouraged to apply.
