The Department of Nursing, School of Medicine, Yokohama City University, is the only public institution of higher nursing education in Yokohama. Guided by community needs, it is dedicated to advancing nursing science and educating future nursing leaders who will improve healthcare, welfare, and society through excellence in education, research, and practice.
To prepare students for the global nursing community, we have strengthened our international education programs. At the undergraduate level, we are expanding study abroad opportunities in Asia and Africa, developing international educational programs, and promoting student exchanges with overseas partner universities. At the graduate level, we are enhancing international student exchange, increasing opportunities for inbound students, and developing dual degree programs with overseas institutions.
As a university located in the international city of Yokohama, we aim to become a national center for global nursing education. In collaboration with regional universities, we promote domestic study abroad programs and joint international educational initiatives. Working closely with our two affiliated hospitals, we provide overseas clinical training and recurrent education programs for practicing nurses to strengthen global nursing practice.
In line with Yokohama City University's Midterm Plan, which emphasizes global engagement, we seek applicants committed to educating internationally competent nursing professionals and advancing global nursing education. Successful candidates are expected to contribute to the development of international education programs, strengthen support for international students, disseminate research through international conferences and peer-reviewed publications, and obtain competitive external research funding.
