About the Institute

The Institute of Crop Sciences (ICS) of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) is a national institute dedicated to crop science in China. ICS conducts cutting-edge research in crop germplasm characterization, gene discovery, molecular breeding, cultivation, and management, with a focus on major crops including wheat, maize, soybean, rice, and minor cereals.

ICS is home to a research community of approximately 1800 researchers, postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, and other personnel. The institute comprises 59 research groups and nearly 100 leading scientists, including four academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 33 recipients of national talent awards, six Chief Scientists of the China Agriculture Research System, and 60 recipients of the CAAS Outstanding Talent Program.

Research at ICS is organized across five centers: the Crop Germplasm Resources Center, the Crop Genomics and Molecular Design Center, the Crop Genetics and Breeding Center, the Center for Crop Cultivation and Farming Systems, and the Center for Crop Advanced Interdisciplinary Technology.

ICS provides world-class research infrastructure, including 21 national-level research platforms—among them are the National Crop Genebank, the State Key Laboratory of Crop Gene Resources and Genetic Breeding, and 14 provincial/ministerial platforms. The institute also operates 12 comprehensive and specialized experimental stations distributed across major grain-producing regions of China. Since 2003, research led by ICS has received 22 State Science and Technology Awards.

Positions and Eligibility

ICS invites applications from outstanding candidates worldwide for the following full-time positions. Applications are accepted year-round and reviewed on a rolling basis. Priority research areas include:

Innovative Utilization of Crop Germplasm Resources, Crop Genomics, Theory and Technologies for Molecular Design of Crops, Crop Genetics and Breeding, Wheat and Soybean Cultivation, Crop Phenomics, Smart Farming (Cultivation), Photosynthesis, Artificial Intelligence, Protein Design, Quantitative Crop Science, Gene Editing, Intelligent Breeding Design, Synthetic Biology, Bioinformatics Algorithm Development, Spatiotemporal and Multi-Omics of Crops

Qualified applicants should hold a PhD and have postdoctoral or other research experience, a strong track record of research achievements, and excellent management and communication skills.

1. Leading Scientists. Overseas applicants should hold a position equivalent to Associate Professor or above at a university or research institute, or a senior position at a leading enterprise. Domestic applicants should hold a senior professional title at a Chinese university, research institute, or enterprise.
2. Young Talents. Overseas applicants should have at least three consecutive years of research experience following completion of their doctoral degree. Domestic applicants should hold a senior professional title at a Chinese university, research institute, or enterprise.

一、研究所介绍

2. 申报条件：拟回国引进人才一般应在海外著名高校或科研机构担任相当于副教授以上职务，或在国际知名企业担任高级职务。国内引进人才在国内高校、科研院所或企业担任高级专业技术职务。
3. 青年人才
4. 申报条件：拟回国引进青年人才须获得博士学位后有连续3年及以上的海外科研工作经历。国内引进青年在国内高校、科研院所或企业担任高级专业技术职务。

（三）支持政策

聘任岗位：首个人才聘期5年，考核通过后继续执行人才政策。

科研经费与薪酬待遇：享受一定额度的科研经费和岗位补助。具体情况可电话咨询或面议。

平台条件：配备充足的办公、实验用房，在研究生导师认定和研究生招生、博士后招收、科研助理招收等方面给予倾斜支持。
