successful candidates will join our faculty with twelve-month appointments. Appointments at the rank of Assistant Professor are for an initial three-year term and are renewable. The anticipated start date is September 2027.
The base salary range for these positions will be: Assistant Professor range: $11,250 - $11,667 per month ($135,000 - $140,004 annually), Associate Professor range: $14,167 - $15,834 per month ($170,004 - $190,008 annually), Professor range: $16,667 - $20,891 per month ($200,004 - $250,692 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
The successful candidates will be expected to develop or continue an independent, externally funded research program; teach and mentor graduate, undergraduate, and postdoctoral trainees; and contribute to service in the department, the University, and the broader scientific community.
The goal of the Department of Genome Sciences is to address leading-edge questions in biology and medicine by developing and applying genetic, genomic, proteomic, and computational approaches that take advantage of the genomic information now available for humans, model organisms, and a host of other species. We welcome applications from candidates working in any area of genome sciences, broadly defined.
All University of Washington faculty are expected to engage in teaching, research, and service.
Applicants must have earned a PhD in a relevant field (or foreign equivalent) by the date of appointment. An MD (or foreign equivalent) is also acceptable. Candidates for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor must also have a record of research, teaching, and service that meets the University of Washington criteria for appointment with tenure at that rank.
