Position Announcement
The Department of Psychology and Counseling at Utah Valley University invites applications for a one-year lecturer in psychology. The lecturer position is a full-time, teaching focused position with a 5-5 course load. This position is focused on our general education courses and/or large section courses within the department. The successful candidate will be able to teach a combination of General Psychology, Lifespan Development, Positive Psychology, Brain and Behavior, and/or Human Sexuality. We seek a candidate with knowledge of psychological theories, research, and discipline-specific content who is passionate about teaching and committed to student success. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in pedagogy and instructional theories, with a strong ability to deliver instruction across multiple modalities, including face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats.

The ideal candidate will be adept at teaching key skills essential to psychology and demonstrate respect in all interactions with students.

Our psychology program consists of nearly 2,000 undergraduate students and 20 full-time faculty. The psychology faculty is composed of collaborative academics who mentor many undergraduate majors in their scholarly activities.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
- MA, MS, or PsyD in psychology or related field from a reputable institution by the position start date.
- Able to teach specific courses within the department according to current departmental needs.
- Demonstrates respect for students and colleagues inside and outside of classroom
- Uphold ethical standards in teaching
- Must relocate to Utah if hired
Preferred Qualifications
- We prefer candidates with a Ph.D. in psychology or related field by position start date from an accredited institution
