Faculty 100 (F100) Strategic Hiring Initiative

The Faculty 100 strategic hiring initiative was launched in Fall 2022 to recruit 100 new tenured/tenure-track faculty whose work strengthens IU's research capacity in strategically important and rapidly growing areas. By expanding faculty expertise, the initiative accelerates discovery, fosters cross-disciplinary collaboration, and enhances both undergraduate and graduate education - positioning IU Bloomington for long-term academic and research excellence.

As of Fall 2026, IUB has hired more than 70 new tenured/tenure-track faculty through this initiative within five different schools and more than fifteen different departments. These scholars bring excellence in research and teaching in a wide range of subject areas including: healthy and aging, artificial intelligence, environmental research, quantum science, robotics, and more.
