Faculty Specialist I - Lecturer - Tenure Track - Special Education and Literacy Studies
The essential duties of the position include a combination of teaching, assessment for continuous program improvement, advising, and service to the profession, program, the university, and the community at-large. The faculty member will teach graduate and undergraduate courses in areas such as selecting and implementing evidence-based academic interventions and assessments and provide clinical supervision to special education teacher candidates. It is expected that the successful candidate will contribute to establishing regional, statewide, and national visibility for the program, the department, and the university.
Short Job Description:
- Earned Master's degree in special education or closely related field from an accredited institution with a clear emphasis in learning disabilities or mild/mild-moderate disabilities.
- A minimum of 3 years of teaching, intervention delivery or direct service experience with students with or at risk for disabilities.
- Demonstrated success supporting the needs of students experiencing academic difficulty.
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusive education and to meeting the needs of all preK-12 learners.
