Activities and context: The fellow will conduct research on predictive policing, surveillance and data use in school security policies, focusing on human rights protection. Activities include bibliographic, legal and case-law research; comparative analysis of national and international experiences; and assessment of legal risks associated with surveillance, profiling and data sharing. The fellow will participate in Égide Project activities and produce research reports, articles, and evidence-based inputs for its evaluation and improvement.
Mandatory requirements: PhD in Law or a related field, obtained within the last 7 years; demonstrated academic research experience; ability to conduct bibliographic, legal and case-law research; proficiency in Portuguese and English; scientific publications consistent with the field; capacity for independent and interdisciplinary research; exclusive dedication to the fellowship; and availability for in-person/hybrid activities and Égide Project meetings.
Desirable requirements: Experience in human rights, constitutional law, international law, data protection, public security, criminology, surveillance or predictive policing; experience in comparative research; analysis of algorithmic systems and discrimination risks; international research experience; publications on related topics; experience with empirical research, public policy or engagement with public institutions.

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationality.
