Position Summary

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

Proficient in typing, filing, computer skills such as Windows and Microsoft Office, social media, leading youth programs in different environments, and use of a smartphone.
Strong organizational and other soft skills, working knowledge of office practices and procedures.
Ability to use independent judgment and discretion with confidential information.
Ability to work with limited supervision.
Critical thinking skills, initiative, mastery of content, time management, and attention to detail

Physical Demands

Duties/Responsibilities

Conduct in-school club meetings and deliver prepared curriculum that meets state (Georgia Professional Standards) guidelines.
Plan ahead and cooperate with staff members to coordinate programs.
Assist 4-H’ers in preparation for 4-H competitive events, including project achievement, judging teams, etc.
Transport or arrange for transportation of 4-H’ers to various district and state-level events, and if assigned, provide leadership for youth while attending these events.
Incorporate the results of program evaluations and feedback in planning future programs and techniques used in implementing programs.
Develop school break activities for all youth ages.
Coordinate event details, budget, travel with youth, and coordinate with staff about activities, etc.
Perform specific tasks and assume leadership for certain program areas as specified by the District Extension Director or County Extension Coordinator.
Use local mass media to publicize 4-H events and accomplishments.
Use county website and internet media to increase 4-H program outreach.
Make reports to appropriate clientele and public officials through media, personal contacts, and/or group meetings.
Submit accurate, complete reports on time in Georgia Counts, 4-H Enrollment, and to District and State 4-H office as required.
Identify, recruit, train, involve, and recognize volunteers in planning, teaching, and evaluating Extension 4-H programs.
Recruit 9- to 18-year-old students to become involved in 4-H educational programs.
