Job Summary
The Student Success Advising Center under Student Success is seeking a federal work-study student to join our team. The work study student will report directly to the Administrative Assistant III, and will assist in the everyday operations within the office.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist students, faculty, and guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Provide general front office support and front desk coverage.
- Assist students at self-service registration stations.
- Assist with managing documents, including shredding, scanning, copying, and other similar tasks.
- Design and create marketing materials for office events and announcements such as flyers, brochures and giveaway items.
- Perform Inventory of office supplies, and marketing materials.
- Cross train in other Student Success related departments such as the Academic Enhancement Center (AEC).
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a Federal Work Study award
- Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at Georgia Gwinnett College.
- Must be in good academic standing and maintain good academic standing for the duration of employment.
- Must be in good conduct standing with Georgia Gwinnett College and maintain good standing for the duration of employment.
- Must be able to handle confidential information
- Exhibit professional demeanor with excellent customer service skills
- Ability to interact effectively with people at all levels. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to work a minimum of 15 hours a week
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong writing, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office. Accuracy and attention to details.
- Willingness to learn new skills to accomplish tasks.
- Software proficiency such as Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook.
