Our West Campus is located at 2400 Gillionville Road, Albany, GA 31707. Our East Campus is located at 504 College Drive, Albany, GA 31705. The Human Resources office for both campuses is located on the West Campus in Building K, Suite 209.
Job Summary
The Intramural and Recreation Assistant supports campus recreation and wellness initiatives by assisting with intramural sports programs, recreational activities, facility supervision, equipment management, and special events. This position helps create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment that promotes student involvement, wellness, leadership, and community building.

Responsibilities
- Assist with the daily operation and supervision of recreational facilities and activity spaces.
- Support the coordination and administration of intramural sports leagues, tournaments, and recreational programs.
- Monitor participants during recreational activities to ensure compliance with facility rules and safety procedures.
- Distribute, collect, inspect, and maintain recreational and sports equipment.
- Assist with scorekeeping, officiating, participant registration, and event check-in as needed.
- Set up and break down equipment, courts, fields, and activity areas for intramural competitions and special events.
- Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, staff, and guests participating in recreational programs.
- Conduct routine facility and equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns to professional staff.
- Assist with promotional efforts to increase student participation and engagement in recreation programs.
- Maintain accurate records related to attendance, equipment usage, and program participation.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a current Albany State student enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours.
- Must be eligible for Federal Work-Study employment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Dependable, responsible, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Interest in recreation, wellness, sports, or student engagement.
- Ability to interact positively with diverse campus populations.
- Ability to lift and move recreational equipment and event materials up to 25 pounds.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends based on program schedules and special events.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience participating in intramural sports, recreation programs, or student organizations.
- Knowledge of basic game rules, scorekeeping, or officiating procedures.
- Previous customer service or event support experience
