The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, comfortable with data entry/computer systems as well as comfortable working in a field-based environment, and has a strong working knowledge of utility distribution policies and procedures.
- Conduct new hire safety orientation and onboarding sessions. Including, but not limited to: classroom training and orientation, in-field assessments for various utility positions (i.e. Class A vs Class B linemen, groundmen, operators, etc.), new-hire assessments, etc.
- Present safety training programs to employees in classroom and group settings.
- Prepare training materials and assist with class setup and coordination.
- Schedule and track required online training programs.
- Maintain accurate training records and certifications.
- Ensure shop and mobile equipment training documentation is completed and uploaded properly.
- Assist in development and revision of safety procedures and site-specific safety plans.
- Scan, upload, and maintain training records in company systems (e.g., Quickbase, ISN, Avetta or similar).
- Track and schedule client-required online training.
- Upload Certificates of Insurance (COIs), policies, and client-requested documentation.
- Track Job Safety Analysis (JSA) completions and equipment inspections daily.
- Maintain electronic and physical safety files.
- Print and assemble foreman binders and training packets as needed.
- Conduct and document inspections (field crew inspections, equipment, materials, etc.)
- Assist with incident investigations, including documentation and report preparation.
- Ensure hazardous waste is properly labeled and coordinate disposal.
- Support safety reporting and documentation efforts.
- Assist with compliance tracking across multiple crews or job sites.
- Monitor, stock, and issue Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with documentation and distribution of dieletric tested materials, inventory expiration dates, crew swapping schedules, etc.
- Assist with mobile and shop equipment dielectric inspection records and documentation.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1–3 years of experience in an administrative, safety, training, or compliance-related role preferred OR experienced utility line worker with 3+ years’ experience in overhead or underground transmission and/or distribution
- OSHA Construction 10 or 30 Hour
- Basic computer skills required.
- Strong data entry and document management skills.
- Experience using databases or tracking systems (Quickbase, ISN, Avetta, or similar platforms preferred).
- Experience training and presenting in front of large groups.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Must be able to meet MVR requirements to drive company vehicle
- Experience in overhead and/or underground utility distribution or transmission with a strong working knowledge of distribution safety policies and procedures (i.e. cover-up, minimum approach, grounding, etc.)
- Knowledge of OSHA documentation or compliance processes.
- Familiarity with safety training coordination.
- Experience assisting with incident investigations
- Experience hauling truck and enclosed utility trailer
- BLS Instructor Certification
- Bucket/Aerial Rescue Instructor
- Competent Person Certification(s)
May require standing, sitting or driving for extended periods of time.
