Job Description:

Provide financial planning, analysis, and business partnering support to help drive strong financial performance across the University.

Join a supportive and forward-thinking Finance Team where your expertise will help shape financial planning, reporting, and compliance.

You'll work closely with business units, building trusted relationships and delivering meaningful insights that support strategic decision-making.

Some tasks of the role include:

  • Managing budgets and forecasts across allocated portfolios
  • Reviewing monthly profit and loss performance
  • Supporting research grant audits and funding allocations
  • Preparing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assisting with annual audits and reporting
  • Supporting capital expenditure and insurance processes

Mahi & Wāhi / Utu | Work pattern, location & salary

This permanent role is based at our Lincoln Campus and works 37.5 hours per week (1.0 FTE). While the position is primarily on‑campus, some work‑from‑home flexibility may be available depending on the role’s requirements.

The salary for this position is $90,000+ per annum, depending on experience.

Kā tino Pūkeka/Whēako | Essential skills/experience for the role

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Commerce, Finance or a related field
  • CA or CPA qualification with 5+ years of commercial experience
  • Strong financial reporting, analysis and accounting expertise
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence with ERP systems
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder partnership skills
  • A proactive, detail‑focused and outcomes‑driven approach
