Financial Administrator 1, College of Arts and Sciences, Hybrid
Job Overview
The Financial Administrator 1 is responsible for the assigned financial activities of a business unit within the Natural Sciences division. With oversight and guidance from the Business Manager of the unit, the Financial Administrator 1, will execute important financial tasks of the unit to ensure operational efficiency.
This position will have the option of a hybrid work schedule (3 days in the office/2 days work from home) for those with a residence within OH/IN/KY following 90 days of training. Residence must be in the tri-state area within reasonable distance to UC Main Campus to have ability to report to campus as required. Remote work arrangements are subject to change in accordance with university policies.
Essential Functions
- Order Supplies for assigned departments utilizing various purchasing software programs
- Assist with travel expense reporting and guide faculty/students appropriately to adhere to the process
- Answer concur questions in adherence with the Travel Policy by the traveler
- Process Cash Advances in Concur in adherence with UC policy
- Process invoices to ensure timely payment and account coding
- Process Personal Services Contracts & Limited Services Engagement forms in adherence with UC policy
- Perform related duties based on departmental need.
This role operates as part of team. Assigned duties are subject to change at the discretion of management and the needs of the team, business unit or division.
Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree must be in accounting or related field. Four (4) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
Required Experience
Related finance or accounting experience.
Additional Qualifications Considered
- Experience working in higher education.
- MS Excel skills (creating spreadsheets and using financial functions).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Experience working with internal and external customers and partners.
