Financial Administrator 1, Department of Emergency Medicine
Job Overview
The Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, a nationally recognized leader in emergency care, education, and research, is seeking a Financial Administrator to join our dynamic business team. As the birthplace of Emergency Medicine, UCEM is committed to advancing the field through our core pillars of Leadership, Education, Advocacy, and Discovery. With guidance from supervisor, The Financial Administrator will oversee the planning and supervision of the fiscal administrative activities of a unit.
Essential Functions
- Reconcile bank statements, general ledger accounts, and accounts payable/receivable monthly.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring accurate and timely payments.
- Maintain the general ledger and prepare journal entries.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closing procedures.
- Prepare and assist in budget-related tasks.
- Assist in the development and documentation of department policies and procedures.
- Assist in the development and input of financial transactions into university systems.
- Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.
Required Education
- Bachelor's Degree must be in accounting or related field.
- Four (4) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
Required Experience
- Related finance or accounting experience.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
- Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
