The Financial Aid Specialist at Roane State Community College role involves assessing eligibility for various aid programs, including federal, state, and institutional grants, loans, and scholarships.

Job Duties

• Verification of Financial Aid files
• Process and award Federal Pell Grant
• Process and award Federal Direct Loans
• Resolve over awards in student FA packages
• Oversight (certifying, awarding, reconciling, award adjustments, issue resolution, reporting) of the following programs/processes:
  • Tennessee Student Assistance Award (TSAA)
  • Federal Supplemental Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)
  • Student Engagement Reporting
  • Electronic Consent Monitoring
  • Resolve student data and suspense files in BANNER Reporting to federal and/or state agencies
  • Process Athletic scholarships

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree
Two (2) years of Financial Aid experience, prefer in-depth knowledge of verification, awarding, program information.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience with Banner, COD, NSLDS; FAST.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to work independently and within team environment.
Analytical thinking and ability to multi-task.
Ability to present Financial Aid information at various events.
