"Financial Aid Specialist"

Description of Key Responsibility:

• Provide positive customer service to current students, prospective students and parents and guiding them through the financial aid process.
• Provide general administrative support for the Office of Financial Aid.
• Assist student and parents with filling out necessary forms.
• Assist in the maintenance of student financial aid files.
• Prepare and process documents to be provided to internal offices/personnel, external entities, and correspondences with students.
• Handle complex and highly confidential material with the utmost attention to sensitivity and care, in accordance with College policy and applicable regulations.
• Assist in supervision of student workers.
• Oversees document processing for student aid files.
• Assist with administration of Federal Work Study.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education/Training:

A high school diploma is required. The equivalent of at least one year of college level training in office administration tasks.

Experience:

At least two years of experience in an administrative office environment, particularly one dealing directly with the public.

Position Summary:

Provides processing and customer service assistance for the Office of Financial Aid to ensure that all students, staff, faculty, and community are well served and in a timely manner.
