General Summary

The Student Financial Aid Specialist is responsible for the processing and awarding of state and federal grants according to strict regulation.

Specific Position Duties

• Verify FAFSA information and make corrections to student applications as needed.
• Award state and federal grants individually and in batch Act as a financial aid advisor.
• Review student account statements.
• Serve as a member of the financial aid appeals team.
• Assist with return of Title IV funds calculations.
• Award Stafford and PLUS Loans
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Associates degree or college coursework plus experience in personal accounting, high school/higher education or social program.
• Computer and business math skills.
• Organizational skills and strong work ethic.
• Ability to work under pressure, perform multi-tasks and meet deadlines, maintain a personable, tactful and pleasant demeanor at all times, even under stress.
• Basic knowledge of financial aid. Strong code of ethics and ability to adhere to guidelines.

Annual Salary

$42,000

Work Hours

Monday-Thursday 8am-5:30pm Friday 8am-1pm, Summer Hours Monday-Thursday 7:30am-5:30pm, Friday-Closed
