Job Description:
Provide technical leadership and operational support for the campus Fire Protection Systems. This position guides and trains Controls Technicians I and II, assists with planning and prioritizing daily work, coordinates with contractors and vendors, and supports the Supervisor in maintaining reliable fire protection monitoring, response, inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair operations.
The primary focus of this position is campus Fire Protection Systems. Fire suppression responsibilities are limited to related monitoring points, system interfaces, project coordination, and other duties, as assigned.
Job Duties:
- Assist the Supervisor with planning, prioritizing, and coordinating daily Fire Protection operations.
- Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance, and training to Controls Technicians I and II.
- Coordinate Fire Protection work performed by staff, contractors, and vendors.
- Support reliable operation of campus Fire Protection monitoring, response, inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair activities.
- Review Fire Protection issues and assist with troubleshooting, corrective actions, and escalation as needed.
- Support Fire Protection design reviews, renovations, projects, acceptance testing, and system turnover.
- Support Fire Suppression monitoring points, supervisory signals, and Fire Protection system interfaces as needed.
- Participate in the regular rotation of on-call duties.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
