The Department of Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry, Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnologies, National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest invites applications for a position as First Stage Researcher (R1), specializing in Inorganic Chemistry.
The Department of Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry provides didactic activities at specialized disciplines from chemical engineering, environmental engineering, biochemical engineering and biotechnologies for Bachelor's and Master's degree programs from the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnologies, as well as from other faculties of POLITEHNICA Bucharest.
The candidates will be expected to teach the following undergraduate courses and applications (seminars and laboratories):
Chmie Bioanorganica/ Bioinorganic Chemistry; Bazele Chimie Anorganice / Introduction in Inorganic Chemistry; to first year students in Romanian language.
The applicant are also expected to carry out original research with research interests focusing on Inorganic Chemistry.

Skills/Qualifications
- Applicant's core knowledge should include, but is not limited to, inorganic chemistry, coordination chemistry, basics of chemical engineering.
- Teaching abilities – the candidate must be able to prepare and give lectures, tutorials and laboratory sessions according to curricula and syllabus for the corresponding subjects.
- Organizational skills – the candidate should actively participate in the organization of events and outreach activities by the department/faculty/university.
- Research abilities – the candidate must be able to design and complete scientific research activities, participate in the process of securing external funding for research, and to disseminate research results in scientific journals and to research conferences;
- Supervising abilities – the candidate must be able to supervise and guide students for their scientific presentations and thesis completion, and to provide constructive feedback to students as well as critical instruction regarding student work and academic standards
- Learning abilities and disposition – the candidate must be open and able to perform activities to continuously improve professionally.

Decision of the Competition Committee on the ranking of candidates, the nomination of the candidate who obtained the highest overall results, and the recommendation for appointment to the position: to be displayed at the premises of the Department where the competition was held by 14 October 2026.
Approval by the Faculty Council of the Competition Committee's Report: by 20 October 2026.
Approval by the University Senate of the Competition Committee's Report on the outcome of the competition: by 22 October 2026.
