Fitness and Engagement Coordinator
Coastal Carolina University is currently accepting applications for the following full-time position: Fitness and Engagement Coordinator in the Department of University Recreation.
This position coordinates and develops comprehensive fitness programs that promote healthy lifestyles, group exercise, and student engagement within the University community. The Fitness and Engagement Coordinator provides leadership for Group Fitness, Personal Training, and related initiatives while supervising student employees and supporting departmental marketing and engagement efforts, and works collaboratively with the Assistant Director to implement innovative programs, assess effectiveness, and enhance the overall recreation experience.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Sport Management, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Physical Education, Business Administration, or a related field. Experience in fitness, recreation, wellness programming, student services, or a related field. CPR / AED and First Aid certification obtained within 90 days of employment.
Preferred Qualifications : Master’s degree in Recreation, Sport Management, Higher Education, Business Administration, Exercise Science, or a related field. Two (2) years of professional experience in campus recreation, fitness programming, wellness, or related areas. Experience supervising student employees.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Fitness & Engagement Program Administration – Coordinates the development, implementation, and evaluation of University Recreation fitness programs, including Group Fitness, Personal Training, and other related initiatives. Develops program schedules, manages program logistics, supports instructor development, and ensures programs align with departmental goals, industry standards, and participant needs.
