FIXTURE & WALL CLEANER

Job Responsibilities

• Perform terminal cleaning of operating room suites.
• Operate mechanical cleaning and scrubbing equipment, strip and refinish floor surfaces.
• Collect and transport waste materials/soiled linen to central location, wash walls and ceilings, clean restrooms and operate vacuum cleaning equipment.
• Be able to perform all cleaning duties that relate to the Environmental Services Department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
• Must be able to follow both verbal and written instructions.
• Must be able to perform a wide range of physical activities including pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, reaching, etc.
• Must not have any type of lifting restrictions.
• Must be able to work around sick and disabled patients (children and adults) within a hospital setting.
• Must be a team player, able to prioritize work and be able to handle stress on a daily basis.
• Must be able to perform all tasks listed on the Fixture & Wall Cleaner Description.

This position is 40 hours / Midnights / Monday-Friday / 9:00 PM - 5:30 AM.

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the AFSCME union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
