Job Summary

Performs highly skilled maintenance and repair to automobiles, light/medium truck and or equipment maintenance and repair. This position will interact on a regular basis with: Faculty and staff. This position typically will advise and counsel: Faculty and staff. This position will supervise: N/A

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics and troubleshoot utilizing automated diagnostic tools.
• Maintain major component repairs, electrical systems controls, and preventative maintenance services to all Georgia Tech (GT) state owned automobiles, trucks, and equipment.
• Ensure the safe and proper operation of tools and power equipment adhering to prescribed safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Road tests vehicles and trucks upon completion of repairs to ensure proper functioning and safe operating conditions.
• Perform inspections on automotive and mechanical equipment to identify repair needs and provide accurate cost estimates.
• Work with Parts Specialist regarding shop inventory and equipment. Assist with department asset inventory and reconciliation.
• Diagnose, repair, and overhaul vehicle systems including brakes, ignition, electrical, transmission, differentials, and hydraulic systems.
