Float MFM Sonographer
Job Summary
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine, at the University of Colorado has an opening for a float MFM sonographer between 0.5 to 0.9 FTE to provide support to the freestanding Maternal Fetal Medicine clinic, located in Denver, Parker, Littleton, and Fort Collins, CO.
Key Responsibilities
- At the direction of a qualified physician or advance practice provider (APP), performs a variety of procedures requiring independent judgment and initiative in the utilization of ultrasonic equipment for the diagnosis of disease in humans.
- Reviews patient history and physician's orders in order to perform prescribed study.
- Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
- Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment, and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
- When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
- Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters
