Job Duties: The Department of Pediatrics at The University of Wisconsin is recruiting an exceptional Float Pediatrician to join our Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine. We are looking for candidates with a track record of clinical excellence and interest in education as demonstrated through training and/or practice experience.
- This position is full or part-time, 50%-100%
- This position requires work to be completed onsite, at a designated campus work location.
- Contact with vulnerable populations that are non-minors (does not pertain to physicians/providers who work with minors): This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.
- Applicants for this position will be considered for the titles: Clinical Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, Clinical Assistant Professor, Professor (CHS), Associate Professor (CHS), or Assistant Professor (CHS). The title is determined by the experience and qualifications of the finalist.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Our providers participate in clinical teaching of fellows, residents and medical students, and support the teaching and clinical research missions of the division and department.
- Clinical expectations include providing clinical care to pediatric patients in an outpatient setting in a PCP coverage role, in General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine.
- Physicians hired on the Clinical Health Sciences (CHS) track will participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.
Department: School of Medicine and Public Health, Department of Pediatrics, Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine. The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is a vibrant academic department comprising more than 200 faculty members in 16 subspecialty divisions. The department promotes and enhances the health of children through outstanding clinical care, exemplary education of pediatric trainees, performance of cutting-edge research, and vigorous advocacy. Our faculty enjoy a robust infrastructure of services as well as the opportunity to contribute to our world-class research portfolio: since 2015, the Department of Pediatrics has ranked among the Top 20 pediatrics departments receiving NIH funding, according to Blue Ridge Institutes for Medical Research. The Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine is a multidisciplinary group of diverse members, including pediatric providers — MDs and DOs — and advance practice providers, primarily nurse practitioners. Division members offer comprehensive primary care health services for infants, children, tweens, teens, and young adults. Many clinicians practice in UW Health specialty clinics that address diverse aspects of adolescent medicine such as pediatric and adolescent gynecology, sports medicine, and gender care. The program also staffs urgent care facilities. The division takes pride in the range and reach of its faculty’s scholarly work and the critical role that administrators and research staff play in advancing its mission. Its members also unite around a strong teaching mission involving students, residents, and fellows.
Compensation: Negotiable, 12 month. Employees in this position can expect to receive benefits such as generous vacation, holidays, and sick leave; competitive insurances and savings accounts; retirement benefits.
Required Qualifications:
- Board certification or board eligibility in American Board of Pediatrics is required by the appointment start date.
- Completion of an ACGME-approved pediatric residency program is required, by start date.
- The candidate is required to have a Wisconsin medical license by the appointment start date.
- Must be eligible for enrollment as a billing provider and for all necessary hospital privileges by the appointment start date.
Preferred Qualifications: ASSOCIATE AND PROFESSOR CHS or CT RANK: For an appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank on the CHS or CT Track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate or Professor on the CHS or CT Track.
Education: MD, DO, or equivalent is required.
