Food Operations Analyst (6-month Fixed Term)

JOB PURPOSE

Serve as a key operational partner to our chefs, dining managers, and operators. This role is the backbone of our dining & hospitality operations, focusing on providing exceptional and responsive customer service through the hands-on management of our Point of Sales and E-Procurement System. You will be responsible for maintaining data integrity, processing a high volume of requests, and ensuring the systems our culinary teams rely on are accurate and up to date.

CORE DUTIES

  • Act as the primary service contact for chefs and dining hall managers, diligently managing and processing a consistent flow of email requests for new item creation, recipe updates, and pricing changes in our POS and E-Procurement systems.
  • Perform hands-on, detailed data cleanup and maintenance across multiple systems to ensure data integrity. This includes identifying and correcting errors, standardizing entries, and maintaining database health.
  • Meticulously maintain the menu management system, ensuring accuracy for over 8,000 recipes and items by applying nutrient, measurement, and production guidelines.
  • Investigate and resolve invoice and system variances, collaborating directly with operators and vendors to troubleshoot errors and ensure timely, compliant payments through the eProcurement system.
  • Monitor open Purchase Orders (POs) in the eProcurement system, close out completed orders, and distribute weekly reports to operators to ensure clear communication.
  • Assist with basic accounting/finance and administrative tasks that support operations, including reconciliations, journals, commissions, transfers, expense reimbursements, etc.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and two years’ work experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • A strong customer service mindset and the ability to patiently and effectively support non-technical users (e.g., chefs, operators) via email, phone, and in person.
  • High degree of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail, especially when performing repetitive data entry and manual system updates.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage and prioritize a steady stream of requests from multiple stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with computerized office applications, especially Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work well independently to solve problems and as a collaborative team member.

  • Experience or interest in Food and Hospitality and Dining Operations.
  • Hands-on experience with information systems such as Point of Sales (POS), eProcurement, or food service management systems.
  • Demonstrated experience performing routine data cleanup and maintaining item databases.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
  • Frequently sit, sort, file paperwork or parts, grasp lightly, and use fine manipulation, lift, carry, push and pull objects that weigh 10 pounds or less.
  • Occasionally write by hand, twist, bend, stoop and squat.
  • Rarely stand, walk, reach or work above shoulders and use a telephone.

WORKING CONDITIONS

May work extended hours during peak business cycles.

The expected pay range for this position is $40.86 - $44.71 per hour.

This role is currently designated as hybrid and may provide incumbents with flexibility for partial telecommuting.
