Stanford University is a private research university located in Stanford, California. Founded in 1885 by Leland and Jane Stanford in memory of their son, Leland Stanford Jr., who died of typhoid fever at age 15, the university is widely considered to be one of the most prestigious and innovative universities in the world The university’s motto is “The wind of freedom blows”

 

Academic Programs

Stanford University offers more than 300 degree programs in 13 major academic divisions, including engineering, architecture, journalism, business, education, medicine, law, and arts and science.
