Food Service Technician - PM

Minimum Qualifications
Experience in food preparation or service activities in a
commercial kitchen; or an equivalent combination of training and
experience.

Essential Job Functions
Duties of the position may include:
- Maintaining all university specifications pertaining to
production and service.
- Control proper usage and rotation of food.
- Ensure food quality and appearance on buffet.
- Alert Chef or direct supervisor to any food quality issues that
could hurt culinary operations.
Maintain walk-in coolers and food storage areas daily.
Maintain a neat, clean, and sanitary workstation.
The person selected must follow cleaning and sanitation
procedures and other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
Serves appropriate portion sizes determined by Unit
Management
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this
Position
- Knowledge of methods of preparation and cooking of food in
quantity lots.
- Knowledge of the uses of various pieces of equipment, including
but not limited to steamers, steam pots, fryers, grills, slicers,
and ovens.
- Ability to maintain high standards of personal cleanliness as
well as food sanitation.
- The job requires attention to detail, initiative, and
decision-making capabilities.
- Team player attitude and superior customer service skills are
required.
- Initiative to work beyond what is requested within the unit to
achieve business goals of quality and service standards.
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of related front of house food service experience.
ServSafe certification should be obtained within 1 year of
employment.
Work Schedule/Hours: Campus Dining is a Sunday – Saturday,
6:00 am – 11:00 pm operation. Operations are reduced during
university breaks. Employees are scheduled two days off each week
based on business need. Days off may not be consecutive days
off.Food Service Technician (FST) – PMTypical hours 3pm-12amActual
schedule time may vary.Operations are reduced during university
breaks. Employees may be required to work some flex hours to
support the needs of the business and/or for special campus events.
Schedules will be adjusted as needed to provide coverage in these
cases.
Anticipated Hiring Range: $35,845
