Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to: Learn procedures and practices for food handling, sanitation, cleanliness; Use food service equipment and utensils; Use computer cash register; Understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Basic math skills for recipe and quantity control.
• Working effectively with other employees.
• Working effectively with customers.
• Demonstrated good attendance record; is aware of the impact that missing work will have on the customer as well as co-workers.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Must follow basic dress code and hygiene standards set by University Dining.
• Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication skills.
• Evidence of a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• May be required to work in cold storage areas.
• May be required to have a valid driver's license to drive university van, box truck or motorized skid. (Food Service Worker positions within Catering require a valid driver's license.)
• Successful interview.
• Successful completion of three background checks.

Preferred Qualifications

• Six months food service experience.

Job Description

Essential Functions

• Ability to: Lift up to 40 lbs. without assistance; Move over 40 lbs. using standard food service industry carts.
• May be required to work in cold storage areas for extended periods of time.
• May be required have a valid driver's license to drive university van, box truck or motorized skid. (Food Service Worker positions within Catering require a valid driver's license.)
• Ability to stand for long lengths of time.
• Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• Understanding of written directions.
• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and mouse.
