Job Summary
The position will perform a variety of tasks such as preparation and replenishment of food and serving of food. This position will also be responsible for the cleaning of the dining and kitchen areas.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of the food service facility for the serving of food. This includes the preliminary preparation of food items, counting and setting out an appropriate number of food trays, and setting out food and beverages according to established procedures.
- Serve and assist in serving food to students, staff, faculty, and community members while adhering to policies and procedures including but not limited to portion control, quality control, sanitation standards, and other Eatec practices and procedures. As needed, replenishes foods, silverware, glassware, dishes, and trays at serving stations; replenish condiments.
- Maintain work areas and serving areas in a clean, sanitary and safe condition; wash and clean counters and steam tables; wash and store plates, utensils, pots, pans, trays and kitchen equipment. Maintain all equipment.
- Label and prepare food for storage; assist in storing unused food and supplies; dispose of unusable leftovers properly; ensure garbage is properly disposed of.
- Communicate and interact positively with students, staff, faculty, and the community. Maintain a clean and professional appearance at all times.
- Remain alert to situations which may be unsafe or potentially hazardous to students, staff, faculty, or visitors and report such situations to the Dietary supervisor. Work in a safe manner to prevent harm to self, other employees, and equipment. Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Required Education/Experience: Completion of the eighth grade OR three (3) years work experience required.
Preferred Qualifications: One or more years of experience in the food service industry. Basic Serve Safe Certification or knowledge.
Proposed Salary: $13.23 - $13.90 Hourly. Paid on a Bi-weekly Basis.
