Food Service Worker
Responsible for performing a variety of patient, cafeteria and catering services functions that may include patient visitation, tray assembly, distribution and service, general sanitation, cleaning and use of kitchen equipment and pantries. Main Duties:
- Help patients choose meals that match their dietary needs and preferences.
- Assemble and deliver meal trays accurately and on time.
- Take and monitor food temperatures; report issues promptly.
- Pick up trays from patient rooms courteously.
- Stock and clean food areas and pantries.
- Operate and clean kitchen equipment safely.
- Set up and serve food in cafeteria and catering settings.
- Maintain cleanliness and follow sanitation and safety procedures (HACCP, infection control, etc.).
- Transport food, carts, and supplies safely throughout the facility.
- Follow all hospital, department, and safety policies.
- Communicate patient concerns to the right staff.
- Handle waste and recyclables properly.
- Complete required logs, reports, and cleaning schedules on time.
- Participate in meetings and staff training.
- Perform other assigned tasks as needed.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
