Overview
This Forensic Psychology Practice (CPD Route) degree offered by the University of Birmingham requires students to attend nine days of taught classes, aimed at developing advanced research skills. Career opportunities
Graduates of the CPD Forensic Doctorate are already registered Forensic Psychologists and typically hold positions within His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS), the NHS, or private practice. Completion of the doctorate has supported many to progress into more senior or specialist roles, take on leadership responsibilities, or become involved in research and service development within their settings. Some graduates have also gone on to combine academic work with their practitioner roles, contributing to teaching and research in forensic psychology.

Proof of the following qualifications must be presented:
- Certificate as proof of graduation from an MSc in Forensic Psychology (accredited by the British Psychology Society (BPS)). Preferably applicants will have achieved a merit or above.
- Valid Health Professions Council certificate to demonstrate status as a Forensic Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) (preferable).
- Certificate demonstrating Chartered Psychologist Status with the British Psychological Society (BPS).
- Work experience required: Experience working as a Forensic Psychologist, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
