THE OPPORTUNITY
As founding faculty in Mathematics, you will build the quantitative backbone of a new STEAM university — the calculus, linear algebra, discrete mathematics, probability, and computational mathematics sequences that every school depends on — while establishing your own research group in pure or applied mathematics from the ground up.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Design foundational and advanced mathematics course sequences serving all six founding schools Establish a research program and seminar series in pure, applied, or computational mathematics Partner with Intelligent Systems & Digital Engineering and Planetary Systems, Climate & Infrastructure on applied modelling problems within the Grand Challenge Institutes Mentor undergraduate research and competition/olympiad-style programs Help set quantitative-literacy standards and assessment practices university-wide Help recruit founding colleagues and shape department and university governance WHO WE SEEK
Builders, not maintainers — accomplished academics with a demonstrated capacity to create and innovate, experimenting rather than optimizing, and collaborating across disciplines. We welcome established scholars, newly qualified PhDs, and those nearing completion. International candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
A PhD in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or Statistics An active or emerging research record in pure mathematics, applied mathematics, or mathematical modelling Demonstrated strength or clear promise in undergraduate teaching PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in data science, mathematical modelling, or computational mathematics with applications to climate, energy, or infrastructure A track record of curriculum design or innovation in mathematics pedagogy Interest in interdisciplinary collaboration across STEAM fields

ELIGIBILITY
Open to Pakistani nationals and qualified international scholars. The University assists with visa processing and relocation for foreign nationals. PhD or terminal degree required, or demonstrated experience leading major higher-education initiatives.
