"Full Professor"

The City University of Macau (CityU Macau) is inviting applications for Full Professor positions in the following areas: Applied Linguistics, British and American Literature, Chinese-English Translation, Confucian Studies, Culture Theory, English Education, English Phonetics and Phonology, History of Science and Technology in China, Philosophy of Culture, Pre-Qin Literature and Thought, and Traditional Science and Technology of China.

Job Description

Successful candidates are expected to contribute significantly to faculty program development and will be responsible for duties including teaching, research, supervision, and coordination of students’ professional practice and dissertations.

Job Requirements

• Holder of a Doctoral degree in a related field from an accredited institution;
• Strong academic research ability and clear scientific research planning;
• Able to teach undergraduate or postgraduate courses independently;
• Successful experience in supervising undergraduate or postgraduate students;
• Priority for those with a good command of both spoken and written Chinese and English;
• Preference given to Macao residents under the same conditions.

Remuneration

The remuneration and appointment rank offered will be competitive and commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualifications, current position, and professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate in Macao is 12%, but effectively around 5% - 7% after exemptions.
