The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Freiburg invites applications for a

Full Professorship (W3) for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (Succession of Prof. Dr. Eberhard Schulz)

in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics to be filled as soon as possible.

The future holder of this position will represent the field of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in research and teaching. She*he will be the medical director of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics at the Medical Center- University of Freiburg.

The applicant’s expertise should cover the entire spectrum in the field of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry with a focus on behavioral and family therapy. Interdisciplinary collaborations, contributions to the research focus areas of the Faculty of Medicine and participation in research alliances at the University of Freiburg will be expected. In detail, close collaborations within the Center for Mental Health as well as with the Departments of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine are desirable.

Prerequisites for the employment of Professors are a university degree in medicine, a very good dissertation, an excellent publication record and a board certification (Facharztanerkennung) in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Substantial achievements and experience in academic research and teaching, at the level of a Habilitation according to the German academic system, are expected.

The position is tenured according to § 50 para 1 LHG. Reference is made to the regulations of § 49 para 2a LHG.
