We are hiring an AI Programmer for the QESS project “Developing an AI-Enhanced Teaching Resource Hub for the Self-Financing Higher Education Sector” under the Research Center for Digital Education and Blended Intelligence, Hong Kong Shue Yan University. This inter-institutional project aims to centralize and utilize AI learning resources and tools to support teaching and the development of AI literacy among post-secondary teachers across four self-financing higher education institutions, provide effective AI tools for teaching in self-financing institutions, organize professional development activities, and conduct research to evaluate AI literacy initiatives.
The AI Programmer will develop, integrate, and maintain educational AI tools and features for the AI-Enhanced Teaching Resource Hub, working closely with faculty, internal tech teams, and other project staff.
Major duties and responsibilities
• Develop and integrate advanced AI features into the Teaching Resource Hub.
• Customize educational AI tools for specific subject content and teaching needs.
• Ensure the platform’s functionality, scalability, security, and smooth integration of AI tools.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and implement updates based on user feedback and analytics.
• Conduct testing and quality assurance for all AI tools and platform features.
• Collaborate with technical vendors and the internal tech team to support platform and AI tool development.
• Support the development and implementation of ethical guidelines for AI usage within the platform.
Qualifications and requirements
• A Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
• Experience in AI development, programming, or educational technology preferred.
• Proficiency in programming languages and AI frameworks relevant to platform development.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in English and Chinese.
• Interest in applying AI to enhance teaching and learning in higher education.
