Simpson College seeks qualified candidates for a Full-Time Assistant Coach - Football
Principal Duties
This position reports directly to the Head Football Coach and will assist in managing the day-to-day operations for the Football program, emphasizing:
- Serves as a representative of the College, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other members of the SC community and with the public.
- Assist the Head Coach with the training and coaching of assigned student-athletes.
- Assist with the scouting and recruitment of qualified student-athletes.
- Assist with the promotion of the football program
- Abide by the policies, regulations, and rules of the NCAA, conference, and Simpson College, including the Simpson College Code of Ethics for Coaches.
- Assist with the monitoring and enforcement of players' conformity to the Simpson College Code of Ethics for Student-Athletes.
- Assist the Coordinator with the weekly game plan
- Organize, manage, and direct all aspects of student-athlete recruitment for the football program
- Assist with the retention of football student-athletes
- Assist with NCAA compliance matters under the supervision of the Assistant. Athletic Director
- Perform other duties assigned by the Head Coach or Director of Athletics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Valid Driver's License & CPR Certification
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work with a diverse student and staff population
- Strong organization skills,
- Demonstrable aptitude for computer skills (PC-based Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel).
- The successful candidate will also be able to work both as a team member and independently.
- A Bachelor's degree is required, and 3 years of coaching experience at the collegiate level is preferred.
