Requirements
- Ph.D. in Chemistry or closely related field
- Demonstrated expertise in analytical chemistry and chemical
instrumentation
- Strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and mentoring
- Clear ability and commitment to developing and sustaining an
undergraduate research program
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching at the undergraduate level
- Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, or managing
instrumentation
- Experience mentoring undergraduate students in research
- Demonstrated commitment to undergraduate STEM education and
outreach

The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry is located in the
Priscilla Payne Hurd Science Center. Our facilities are
well-equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation supported by
college-controlled endowments. Instrumentation includes a 60-MHz
teaching NMR spectrometer, thermal analysis (STA, bomb
calorimetry), UV-Vis and fluorescence spectrophotometers, multiple
UV-Vis and IR spectrometers, a magnetic susceptibility balance, as
well as other chromatographic (GC-TCD, GC-MS with FID and headspace
sampler, HPLC, FPLC), electrochemical, and biochemical
instrumentation. University endowment funds are available to
provide start-up support for new faculty and continued support for
research endeavors.
