The Blinn College District is searching for a Full Time Dual Credit Advisor at our RELLIS Campus.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities are listed below:
Job Summary
To provide individual and small group educational planning and advising to dual credit students. This will include but not be limited to providing assistance in career planning, planning for academic transfer, core completion and/or completion of an Associates degree. This position would also provide support activities for the college's dual credit programs, such as presentations.
Principal Accountabilities
- Assist prospective and currently enrolled students with developing an educational plan of academic courses to achieve their intended educational goal, while following dual credit state guidelines.
- Assist prospective and currently enrolled students with identifying their educational and career goals to the extent that the student can develop an educational plan to achieve their goal.
- Assist Dual Credit Department as needed in support activities, such as presentations to parents, students, and high school staff.
- Point of contact for area high schools in regards to academic advising and career and educational planning.
- Interact with parties and guardians of students while ensuring that the students FERPA rights are protected.
- Provide office coverage at the Waller Office, as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications/ Required Degree, License or Certifications
- Bachelor's Degree
Minimum Competencies
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Computer literacy and ability to learn proprietary software.
- Ability to work in a collaborative work setting.
- Travel as required
- Valid State Driver's license
- Ability to work nights and weekends, as required
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, faculty, parents and the general public.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to relate to students between the ages of 13-21, as well as nontraditional participants.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in academic disciple
- 3 years' experience in higher education
Preferred Competencies
- Ability to multitask
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Banner Software, Excel and other office suites

This is a 12 month, benefits-eligible position. Blinn College pays 100% of health insurance for full-time employees, 50% for dependents, and two times your annual salary in life insurance benefits. Yearly leave time includes:
96 hours vacation
40 hours discretionary
