Full-Time Faculty Member - Nurse Aide and Health Sciences Department
POSITION SUMMARY
The Community College of Aurora is a dynamic institution that strives to serve its diverse staff and student population founded on principles of equity and inclusion. The college is seeking a full-time faculty member for our Nurse Aide and our Health Sciences Department. This faculty member will be responsible for teaching courses, developing and evaluating curriculum for current and new programs, and serving as the nurse aide program coordinator.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Instructional responsibilities may include day, evening, weekend, hybrid and/or online courses. Teach students using traditional and contemporary methods of instruction, which may include online, multimedia, interdisciplinary learning communities, etc.
- Maintain required office and campus hours.
- Assist with Department duties as requested.
- Assist with annual program assessment effort.
- Assist with maintaining student compliance.
- Develop and evaluate curriculum per stakeholder needs and regulatory requirements, recommend changes as appropriate.
- Assist with class scheduling, staffing, and preparation of materials as requested.
- Assist students with program advising and registration.
- Provide student grades and feedback in a timely manner.
- Maintain professional interaction and relationships with College constituents.
- Implement student assessment and retention strategies and create department reports.
- Support Phlebotomy Program and Instructors on skills and events.
- Work as or directly with the Department Chair and Program Coordinator to ensure pass rate success and DORA compliance.
- Under the supervision of the Department Chair, duties will include the coordination of the Integrated Nursing Pathway Program.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Oversee the clinical assignment and students for the Nurse Aide Program
- Monitor and evaluate student clinical skill requirements for the Nurse Aide Program.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing from a nationally accredited institution.
- Current Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) License, or Multi-State compact RN License, in good standing and without restrictions.
- Currently possess or be able to obtain a Career Technical Education Endorsement in the Health Sciences and Nurse Aide Pathway.
- Have at least 2 years (4,000 hours) of nursing experience in caring for the elderly and/or the chronically ill of any age of which at least 1 year must be in the provision of services in a long-term care facility.
- One-year nursing or nurse aide teaching experience.
- Committed to creating an inclusive learning and work environment with an ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff of diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to effectively navigate relevant technology, including online databases, excel, etc.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Masters Degree in Nursing, or enrolled in a Masters Degree in Nursing program.
- Previous higher education experience.
- Teaching experience including skills-based testing and assessment.
- Demonstrated administrative and supervisory experience.
- Experience working with clinical sites in the health science and nurse aide field.
- Experience with data collection and reporting.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Salary Range: Anticipated salary range: $52,880.78 - $73,949.65 annually. This salary is determined by the qualifications of the selected candidate balanced with departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information. CCA offers an excellent benefit plan, including generous leave, holiday, and education benefits.
