Job Description:

The Department of Health Science Education at Raritan Valley Community College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Instructor/Assistant Professor of Nursing for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Essential Duties:
- Deliver effective classroom, laboratory, simulation, and/or clinical instruction aligned with course objectives, learner outcomes, and professional nursing standards for assigned courses in the ACEN accredited Nursing program.
- Participate in course and program related events (i.e., lecture, laboratory, clinical instruction, and/or simulation) at a variety of times and locations in response to institutional and student needs.
- Participate as a member of an instructional team in the preparation, presentation, and evaluation of learning experiences within an integrated Nursing curriculum.
- Plan, supervise, and evaluate student clinical experience in assigned health care facilities; comply with clinical site clearance requirements.
- Communicate objectives for student performance to the clinical facility administration and nursing staff; initiate conferences with students encountering clinical difficulties.
- Make continuous efforts to improve the quality of instruction through regular assessment and the utilization of innovative methodologies, techniques, and delivery methods.
- Contribute to curriculum development and revision and support program planning and evaluation in compliance with accreditation and licensing standards.
- Participate in student advising, and provide access to students through posted student (office) hours, electronic communication and other appropriate methods.
- Regularly evaluate courses to ensure that learning outcomes and assessments are appropriate and effective.
- Regularly evaluate students to measure their progress in achieving course objectives and inform them in a timely manner of their progress.
- Pursue trainings, certifications, and other professional development opportunities to stay current in the Nursing field and relevant pedagogical advancements.
- Demonstrate an ability to contribute to fostering an inclusive academic environment amongst culturally diverse faculty, staff, and student populations.
- Participate in college/departmental professional development activities.
- Serve on College-wide committees.
- Assist with Departmental strategic planning and outcomes assessment.
- Adhere to College policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Nursing from ACEN, NLNAC or CCNE-accredited institution.
- Current New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) License (or eligible).
- CPR certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree in Nursing from ACEN, NLNAC or CCNE-accredited institution.
- Advanced clinical practice and/or certification in Pediatrics highly desirable (e.g.,APN, FNP-C, PALS, ACLS).
- Clinical experience and/or education in specialty areas such as adult health/medical surgical nursing, maternal child health, and/or psych/mental health nursing, PALS, ACLS
- Prior classroom teaching and/or clinical preceptor experience.
- Experience using technology in the delivery of course content (e.g., Microsoft Office software, Canvas or other learning management system).
- Prior Community College teaching experience.
- Online and/or Hybrid teaching experience.
