The School of Architecture & Design at the Lebanese American University (LAU) invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Architecture at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor (Non-Tenure Track), beginning Fall 2026. The appointment will be made based on the candidate’s academic qualifications, teaching experience, and professional accomplishments. The Non-Tenure track is reserved for professionals who bring in added value in practical experience to the curriculum.

About the Program and School

The Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) program at LAU is a five-year professional degree accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) in the United States. The program emphasizes design excellence, critical thinking, and responsiveness to social, environmental, and technological challenges. Students engage in a rigorous curriculum that integrates studio work, theory, history, technology, and professional practice. The School of Architecture & Design is a vibrant academic unit offering programs in architecture, interior design, graphic design, fashion design and studio arts. It fosters a multidisciplinary and collaborative environment, encouraging innovation, research, and engagement with contemporary global issues. The school is housed in state-of-the-art facilities on both the Beirut and Byblos campuses.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate design studios and courses in the candidate’s area of expertise.
• Contribute to curriculum development and student mentorship.
• Participate actively in departmental and university service, including committee work and academic events.
• Engage with the academic and professional community to support the mission of the department.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Architecture is required.
• A minimum of three years of teaching experience in architecture at the university level.
• A strong record of professional practice in architecture.
• Demonstrated ability to teach architectural design and contribute to academic life.

Terms of Appointment

• Contract Type: Full-time, Non-Tenure Track

• Contract Duration: Renewable annually in accordance with university policies
