The School of Architecture & Design at the Lebanese American University (LAU) invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Interior Design at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, starting Fall 2026. The appointment may be made on a tenure-track or non-tenure-track basis, depending on the candidate’s qualifications and career trajectory.

About the Program and School

The BFA in Interior Design at LAU is a four-year professional degree within the School of Architecture & Design, which is accredited by NASAD (National Association of Schools of Art and Design). The program emphasizes creativity, critical thinking, and innovative approaches to design.

The Department of Architecture & Interior Design is part of a multidisciplinary School of Architecture & Design that also offers programs in architecture, graphic design, fashion design, and studio arts. The school fosters a collaborative and forward-thinking academic culture, supported by state-of-the-art facilities on both the Beirut and Byblos campuses.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach interior design studios at the intermediate and senior levels, in addition to theoretical and/or technical courses in the candidate’s area of expertise.
• Contribute to curriculum development, student mentorship, and academic advising.
• Play an active role in the development of the program and the initiation of academic activities.
• Participate in departmental and university service, including committee work and academic events.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Interior Design is required.
• A minimum of three years of teaching experience in the field.
• A substantial portfolio of professional work specifically in interior design.
• Ability to teach at the university level and contribute to academic life.
