10-Month Tenure Track Position
COMPENSATION:
Initial salary placement ranges from $67,886 to $106,308, based upon education and experience. The current faculty salary schedule includes five classes and twenty steps with a maximum annual salary of $142,425.

Representative Duties
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide instruction using various modalities to include in-person instruction, facilitate learning, and demonstrate subject matter knowledge and/or expertise in Construction Technology courses in accordance with approved Victor Valley College curriculum and established course outlines.
- Collaborate with colleagues in program and curriculum development, evaluation/revision of courses, and participate in other departmental meetings and projects.
- Serve on department/college committees.
- Teach in person, on site, and/or by other modalities in accordance with the district collective bargaining agreement.
- Advise students on academic matters.
- Maintain required student attendance and scholastic records and submit in accordance with published deadlines.
- Willingness to develop and/or teach online courses and participate in technical online training.
- Prepare and grade class assignments and examinations.
- Provide input and participate with local advisory committee.
- Post and maintain regular office hours in accordance with prevailing policy.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills, both orally and in writing.
- Maintain competency in the field.
- Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of students and colleagues.
- Participate in assessment, evaluation, and planning of Student Learning Outcomes and Program Learning Outcomes, Program Review, Curriculum Development.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any bachelor's degree and two (2) years of professional experience, OR any associate degree and six (6) years of professional experience in Construction Technology OR the equivalent.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EPA Section 608 Universal Refrigerant Handling Certification
Professional experience installing, maintaining, and servicing residential and commercial heating and air conditioning systems
Professional experience installing, maintaining, and servicing commercial refrigeration systems
Professional experience installing, maintaining, and servicing heat pump and/or mini-split systems
Professional experience installing, maintaining, and servicing Energy Management Systems
Professional experience providing technical support for HVAC/R installers, contractors, and/or service personnel
Professional HVAC/R teaching experience
C-20 or C-38 Contractors License

Knowledge of:
Knowledge and ability to teach and support students across multiple modalities while maintaining engagement and accessibility
Knowledge of developing course syllabi
Knowledge of fostering inclusive environments for student learning
Knowledge of integrating accessible practices into course design and teaching strategies
Knowledge and ability to teach and support students across multiple modalities including, online, hybrid, remote, HyFlex, and correspondence while maintaining engagement and accessibility.
Knowledge and ability to maintain compliance with all third-party accrediting bodies by keeping required credentials, certifications, and regulatory standards current when applicable.
ABILITY TO:
Ability to work effectively in person through clear communication, collaboration, and adaptability in diverse professional settings.
Demonstrated ability to remain current in one's discipline through ongoing professional development, research, and engagement with emerging trends and best practices.
Proficiently braze HVAC system components
Ability to use advanced technology in the classroom
Ability to work well with others
Ability to use Canvas or other LMS platforms
Ability to interact with others (faculty, staff, students, administration)
