Full-Time, nine-month, tenure track position in the Department of Accounting & Finance in the area of Finance.

ABOUT THE POSITION: The Labovitz School of Business and Economics (LSBE) at the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure track, faculty position in the area of Finance at the Instructor/Assistant Professor level, beginning Fall 2027. The successful candidate will have responsibilities in teaching, research, and service. Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate and graduate core and elective courses.

The teaching load is governed by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the University of Minnesota Board of Regents and the University Education Association (UEA) and is currently five sections, or 15 credits, per academic year for research-active faculty. LSBE courses are typically delivered in person, and the School values opportunities for faculty to engage with industry through teaching, research, and applied projects.

The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a high-quality, impactful research program that produces scholarship publishable in peer-reviewed journals and contributes meaningfully to the discipline, professional practice, and/or society. Service responsibilities will include advising undergraduate students, supporting a student organization, and contributing to the work of the department, School, University, community, and relevant professional organizations. As a place-based institution, LSBE values faculty presence on campus and expects faculty to participate actively and in person in the academic and collegial life of the School.

Visa sponsorship, including H-1B, may be considered for qualified candidates whose visa circumstances do not require payment of the $100k H-1B fee

Review of complete applications will begin on October 26, 2026, and continue until the position is filled.
