Job Description:
The Nursing Department is seeking two (2) full-time tenure-track Assistant Professors to teach in several nursing courses including Medical Surgical Nursing and Behavioral Health. Faculty will also assist in the development and use of simulation education in nursing. Teaching responsibilities include classroom lecture, college lab, clinical instruction and simulation education throughout the nursing curriculum. Faculty will also participate in the development, design and revision of curriculum offered. Faculty are expected to actively participate in departmental, school and college wide committees, as well as demonstrate professional development. Faculty are required to teach 15 hours a week and hold a minimum of 5 office hours per week.
Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A Master's degree in Nursing, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant nursing experience is required. Active, unrestricted NYS Registered Nurse license is required.
All candidates must have evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practice within the classroom.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: At least three years of lecture teaching and/or clinical teaching experience is strongly preferred. A Master's degree in Nursing Education and a familiarization with accreditation processes (Joint Commission, ACEN, CCNE) are also strongly preferred.
- MEDICAL SURGICAL POSITION: The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in medical surgical nursing.
- BEHAVIORAL HEALTH POSITION: The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in behavioral health.

POSITION EFFECTIVE: Fall 2026
SALARY & BENEFITS: This is a ten-month position. The starting salary for this position is $86,117. Additional compensation with seniority steps maximizes at a salary of $123,461. Benefits include comprehensive health coverage, a choice of defined benefit and/or defined contribution pension plan, generous leave benefits, and access to tax sheltered annuities and a deferred compensation plan.
