The Department of Psychology at Bishop’s University (Sherbrooke, Quebec) invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in Psychology, beginning July 1, 2026. Additional information about Bishop's University and the Department of Psychology is available at www.ubishops.ca.

We are seeking applicants with expertise in clinical psychology, with research interests in any area within psychology and a strong background in quantitative methods. The successful candidate will be expected to teach between 3-5 courses per year depending on external research funding and should be able to teach a first-year course in introductory psychology as well as other undergraduate and graduate-level courses in therapeutic techniques and mental health topics. Candidates must possess a PhD or PsyD, be registered with the Ordre des Psychologues du Québec or working to be registered by July 1, 2026 and have an active interest in furthering their research profile. While ensuring alignment with the appointees’ areas of expertise, the courses making up the bulk of the successful applicant’s teaching load will likely be drawn from the following: Introduction to Psychology, Advanced Statistics, Psychometrics, Motivation & Emotion, Psychology of Nutrition, Abnormal Psychology, Psychology of the Couple, Consultation and Supervision, and Clinical Seminars in Psychology and Health. The individual must also demonstrate a commitment to a liberal education model and to applying principles and practices of equity, diversity and inclusion in their teaching, mentorship, and research. As English is the primary language of instruction at Bishop's University, candidates must be proficient and able to teach in this language. In addition, members of the Ordre des Psychologues du Québec must be proficient in French, so candidates for this position must be bilingual.

Bishop’s University offers a wide range of undergraduate degree programs as well as selected graduate programs, with a strong emphasis on dynamic and effective teaching, experiential learning, and research and knowledge mobilization. Located in the beautiful Eastern Townships southeast of Montreal, our riverside campus has a growing and vibrant research culture, cohesive community, and collegial faculty, and staff.

Bishop’s University observes an equal access employment in public bodies for women, visible minorities, ethnic minority, Indigenous and disabled people (including the possibility of accommodation during the selection process). Candidates who anticipate needing accommodation for any part of the process may contact Human Resources at HR@ubishops.ca. In accordance with Canadian immigration requirements, priority will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, but all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.

Application packages, including a cover letter, curriculum vitae, evidence of teaching potential/effectiveness, statement of research achievements and future objectives, and the names and contact information of at least three references must be sent by email as a single PDF file to the Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Social Sciences: Monetta Gallichon (email: socialsciencesdean@ubishops.ca). Review of the applications will begin on April 7 and continue until the position is filled. Only applicants selected for an interview will be contacted.
